Update on “Darby Music” Website

Posted in Announcements by Sean @ Mar 14, 2009

The DarbyMusic.com website has recently undergone a major revision. You’ll see that the old (and boring) monochrome plain text scheme is no longer in use. I am no guru of website development but managed to put some good use to a content management system (CMS) in restructuring the Darby Music website. I hope that everyone now finds the new darbymusic.com easier to browse through.

Some key updates include:

1. New sitewide theme.
2. Significant updates on “Information on Music Lessons” pages.
3. Separate blog/forums (not music lesson related) for use on that site.
4. Registration feature now available if you wish to participate on that site.

You’ll find information on music lessons on that site, though that website is otherwise reserved for general music information. The primary sites for browsing and online interaction pertaining to music lessons are still the MLSD Blog and MLSD Forums, though both of those music lesson webpages are available as links within the Darby Music site.

The main purpose in darbymusic.com is to serve as a website with a name that is quick and easy to memorize and contains content and links to all additional affiliated webpages or websites.

Please read the pages in the “Music Lessons” section. Some updates have been made in all of the pages, though the most significant changes are found in the “Rates & Duration”, “Maintaining Consistency”, and “Materials Needed” pages. Lesson rates are now slightly higher, though are still lower than the rates of other local music instructors/music stores. I have provided some clarification on the points made within the page on maintaining consistency with schedule. Regarding materials needed for lessons, I am now asking all students to bring a 3-ring binder to lessons containing all loose-leaf paper (either three-hole punched or using clear sleeves to hold the pages), to keep a practice log and bring the practice log to lessons, and a metronome. You will find additional updates throughout the “Music Lessons” information pages.
